In this lesson, I learned that every word in a sentence has a job. Nouns name people, places, or things. Verbs show actions. Adjectives describe nouns, and adverbs describe verbs.
One important sentence is: “Verbs show action or a state of being.”
Another important sentence is: “Adjectives give more information about nouns.”
Examples:
Noun: student, book
Verb: read, write
Adjective: good, big
Adverb: quickly
Pronoun: she, they
Preposition: in, on
Conjunction: and, but
