Watch these lectures for an explanation of inheritance and genetics. Punnett squares are named after the geneticist Reginald Punnett, who developed the method for predicting probabilities. Work on the examples to practice Punnett squares. After you have watched them, you should be able to distinguish between genotype and phenotype, understand the difference between dominant and recessive alleles, distinguish between heterozygous and homozygous genotypes, use a Punnett square to predict the results of monohybrid and dihybrid crosses and calculate the phenotypic and genotypic ratios of Punnett crosses.
