Poverty in Toronto

Figure 4.14 is a thematic map of the percentage of people in poverty in Canada's largest city, Toronto. Note the dark orange-red patch in the southern part of the city. This high-poverty area was once a suburb of Toronto and home to its middle class. The areas with lower percentages of poverty are lighter in color and found to the north. The Forest Hill neighborhood is home to some of Toronto's wealthiest people.
